We're hiring! Gallery Invigilators - applications now closed

The Thamesmead Codex is a 24-metre-long hand-painted display of conversations that vividly capture local residents' experiences of life in Thamesmead, created by renowned artist Bob and Roberta Smith over the past two years. We are excited to be showing this work in Thamesmead this summer, before it travels to be displayed at Tate Modern. The exhibition will be open to the public from 25 June and will be open for 10 weeks.


About the role

  • Date: 24 June 2021 - 5 September 2021
  • Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12.30pm – 7:30pm (1hr lunch break)
  • Salary: £12.50ph
  • Location: Thamesmead, South London

As the Gallery Invigilator you'll join our supportive team in providing a friendly welcome for all visitors to The Thamesmead Codex. You'll help to deliver an excellent customer experience by supporting operations, workshops and events across the venue. From welcoming and orientating visitors to the gallery, to helping ready the venue for workshops.

You'll be a people person, friendly, approachable and enjoy art and working with the public. You'll bring experience of working together in a team and providing great customer service. While experience is preferred, it is not essential and full training will be provided.
