Our story
Peabody is leading the regeneration of Thamesmead. Our mission is to improve, grow and look after the town for the long term.
We're doing this by understanding local people's needs and aspirations, and then working with communities and partners to create new opportunities and better neighbourhoods.
We want to ensure everyone living in Thamesmead feels proud to call it home.
Our long term ambition is to bring about:
-
20,000 additional homes
-
thousands of new jobs
-
new or improved leisure and commercial facilities
-
outstanding green spaces
-
cultural activities and events for people to enjoy all year round
-
better transport connections.
Peabody is one of the UK’s oldest not-for-profit housing associations, but our focus is always on the future.
We want to help people flourish. We aim to do this by providing great homes and housing services and making a positive impact in communities.
Peabody Trust is a charitable Community Benefit Society. We have charitable status and are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Regulator of Social Housing. We are a registered social housing provider, with regulated rent levels and standards.
