Join us for the first Nature Forum of 2024 at Manorway Green! We’ll be discussing the recent decision to remove some of the trees in Manorway Green Park and the plans that we are putting in place for replanting. You can read more about the reasons for this decision here.

We’ll meet in Manorway Green Park where the canal bends (see the meeting point here) and take a short walk around the park to see the progress of the tree removal, and where the new trees will be planted.

Dr Phil Askew, Director of Landscape & Placemaking for Peabody will join us to answer questions and talk about the approach to caring for trees in Thamesmead and future planting.

This is a dusk / twilight walk and it will get dark between 5:30pm and 6:00pm. We'll finish by making our way to the Moorings Sociable Club to finish up our discussions and answer remaining questions over complimentary tea or coffee.

We’ll also run through the provisional Nature Forum plans for the rest of the year, which currently include a tour of the newly completed wetlands at Gallions Lake, a foraging workshop, a visit to Gallions Copse woodland and bat detecting.

The forum is always free to join. Please register in advance to confirm your attendance by emailing msfn@peabody.org.uk
