Tastes of Thamesmead
The Tastes of Thamesmead community cookbook features recipes from Thamesmead’s diverse community. It was part of a Thamesmead Community Archive project.
The cookbook was created by renowned artists Floro Azqueta and Hannah Ringham. They worked with residents to showcase the great variety of food heritage in the town with recipes from as far afield as Mexico, Nigeria and Nepal.
In 2021 at the summer and winter Thamesmead Markets, local people could collect a copy of the cookbook in exchange for an item of non-perishable food. All donations were then distributed to local food banks.
