Enjoy an evening exploring how we can be mates with our place through art, ecology and community at Thamesmead's Cathedral of Sewage.
Community arts organisation Three Rivers, which is supported by Peabody, is launching its new three-year programme, Hello Earth. The programme is inspired by local 'Friends of' groups, teams of volunteers, like Friends of Tump 39, who care for places on behalf of the communities who use them.
The launch event will include:
- An introduction to the Hello Earth programme
- Earth Talks with artists Youngsook Choi, Rosa Whiteley and curator Chiara Famengo, Speaker for the Living at Ocean Space in Venice
- Music by Rowan Gatherer
- A Monstrous Soup – a shared meal created by artist Barney Pau and craft caterer Bakestone, with drinks from Bexley Brewery
- Sludge Power! children's workshops
- Film screenings, including Ed Webb-Ingall's film Dolphin Close about Tump 39
- Tours of Crossness Pumping Station
