The event was hosted by the Making Space for Nature team (Peabody, CLEVER Cities and Groundwork London) as well as local volunteers who are passionate about improving their local green spaces.
Residents got to do some planting in the edible garden, pick up some free seed packets, and take part in free workshops including yoga for gardeners, art therapy in nature and cooking from scratch.
We also launched round two of the Making Space for Nature Community Fund which supported 19 community projects last year, all designed to improve wildlife, the environment and health in Thamesmead. Attendees were keen to learn about the opportunity and already had new and exciting ideas for what could be delivered this year, which was great to hear!
