This is part of a Royal Borough of Greenwich initiative has seen 23 benches opened in parks across the borough. The Thamesmead benches have been installed alongside trees which have been planted next to each bench.
Councillor Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Greenwich council, said: “I encourage residents, friends and colleagues alike to make use of these peaceful spaces, to remember loved ones and reflect on the challenges we have all faced.
“I hope these memorials will also serve as a thank you to our key workers, a reminder of their hard work, dedication and of the huge adversities each and every one of us have had to overcome.”
