Through conversations, hands-on workshops, a giant tea party and virtual reality design sessions, we captured a wide range of ambitions into a Common Plan for Claridge Way which included:
- new benches for seating and body weight exercises
- new fences, back gates and planters for adjoining residents
- a new gardening club at Hawksmoor primary School
- painted play route
- a woodland adventure walk
- a wildflower bee road
Peabody has collaborated with the local community, as well as Hawksmoor Youth Club, Wind Rush Primary School and nine residents, whose homes back onto Claridge Way, to create designs for the well-used path. Contractors, specialists, fabricators, school children and their parents worked with Peabody to design, construct and install a series of temporary and permanent public realm equipment and activities.
It’s part of wider investment in the area with Peabody providing £250,000 and the Greater London Authority contributing an additional £50,000 from their Greener Team programme.
