Christmas vouchers bring cheer to Thamesmead residents

Around 100 families across Thamesmead got an extra sprinkling of festive joy when food and toy vouchers were delivered in time for Christmas.

The vouchers, each worth between £50 and £60, were given to households nominated by local schools as needing extra support to create a magical Christmas.

The vouchers were paid for using a £5,000 donation from Lovell, who are working in partnership with Peabody to build the second phase of new homes in South Thamesmead. The donation was part of their commitment to improve local people’s lives.

Seasonal cheer was brought to even more Thamesmead families by Peabody’s fundraising golf day in September 2024. Money raised at the event was used to provide vouchers to households who were nominated as needing support by Peabody’s neighbourhood managers.

The voucher scheme will be running again for Christmas 2025. Do you know of a household with low income or other circumstances that mean they would benefit from a voucher? Email thamesmeadnow@peabody.org.uk to let us know.
