Lombard Square
Once the home of Arsenal Football Club, Lombard Square is a 6.8-hectare site in West Thamesmead. It’s now being regenerated, thanks to a partnership between Peabody, Berkeley, the GLA and Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The mixed-use development will include 1,913 low carbon homes and a new public park. It will also provide 47,000ft² of employment, industrial and community space, bringing more jobs to the Thamesmead and Abbey Wood Opportunity Area. The first residents are scheduled to move there in 2025.
All homes in the neighbourhood will be powered by low carbon ground source heat pumps and the site is currently predicted to deliver a biodiversity net gain of more than 40%.
A housing grant from the Greater London Authority is accelerating the delivery of the site’s affordable homes.
