Gallions Lake

Peabody and Thames21 are improving Gallions Lake and the surrounding area.

Gallions Lake is in West Thamesmead on the north side of Western Way. It is a popular area for locals to visit and has an active angling club.

Improvements to the lake will include installing a wetland, planting a wildflower meadow and mounting a floating bed containing mussels as a natural water pollution filter.

This will help to improve the water quality of the lake as well as creating more habit for local wildlife, both in and out of the water.

Peabody and Thames21 are inviting people to get involved in the project.

If you’d like to speak to a member of the team and find out more, please contact Toby Dighero from Thames21 on 07968 805751.

You can join our WhatsApp group to be updated about events, volunteering, workshops, citizen science projects and more!
