Meet J D Swann at Southmere Square from 10.45am for an 11am start.
Join Ornithological Investigator J D Swann for nature walks through the seasons where you'll be discussing and observing birds and wildlife in Thamesmead. The walks are free and will consider animal diet, reproduction and play and will explore Southmere Lake, Crossness Southern Marshes, Lesnes Abbey Woods, and the canals and paths of Thamesmead.
They are suitable for the whole family but all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The terrain will not be too difficult but there will be some inclines when walking to Lesnes Abbey Woods. The walks will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather conditions, so please bring weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.
Click here to sign up. Please book your place in advance to ensure you're informed of any changes of details. The walks will follow recommended Covid-19 guidelines.
There will be a further three walks between January to March 2022. Dates will be announced in December.
