You may have noticed that we haven't mowed the grass on Abbey Way recently. This is part of our pilot scheme to mow new pathways and spaces into the grass at test locations around Thamesmead.
Our Mow the Way event will bring together local residents, the members of the Community Design Collective, Thamesmead's Grounds Maintenance Team as well as muf, our design partner, to see how certain areas will look with mowed spaces and pathways.
On the day of the event we will be testing the best and safest slopes for wheelchair and buggy users, and creating new pathways for pedestrians. We will also be mowing large sections of the grass to determine the best place for gatherings or outdoor classrooms.
We would love for you to join us, test out the new pathways and spaces we create and give us your feedback. This will then help us to decide where new pathways and outdoor rooms would be best situated.
Want to attend? Email [email protected] by 30th June.
