Volunteers are needed to help construct the floating islands, plant them with native species of plants and install them in the canal. These new habitats will enhance the local environment, provide homes for a variety of wildlife, and help to make the canals greener and more attractive.

All tools and equipment will be provided along with waders and protective gloves. Please bring a packed lunch if you are staying all day.

Meeting point: By the clocktower in Thamesmead town centre, near the Cutty Sark pub.

This is one of a series of days this summer installing these habitat enhancements at four locations in Thamesmead. Please book onto each event separately.
