Plans for Wolvercote Road
We're transforming the area from Abbey Wood station to Southmere Lake with more than 1,500 new homes, shops, cafés, restaurants and vibrant outdoor spaces - all on the doorstep of the new Elizabeth line station.
We’ll be putting the heart back into South Thamesmead with a new village square development and a revitalised Lakeside Centre - together forming a bustling hub for residents and visitors, offering shops, creative spaces and stalls.
And the neighbouring areas are also undergoing a transformation - we’re improving parks, creating brighter walkways and making nicer spaces between homes so residents can feel safer, mix and mingle and get to know each other.

The works are part of the Abbey Wood and South Thamesmead Housing Zone, one of two Housing Zones being delivered in Thamesmead by Peabody with £47.5m investment from the Greater London Authority. The Housing Zones are led by the London Borough of Bexley and Royal Borough of Greenwich.
