Thamesmead

Two miles of Thames riverfront, three of Thamesmead’s six major lakes, 5km of canals and an historic nature reserve

North and Central Thamesmead already have a lot to offer – beautiful green and open spaces, shops and amenities at Thamesmead Town Centre, a state of the art sport and leisure facility at Sporting Club Thamesmead and a strong local community.

And there’s also more positive change on the way. A new DLR station is in the pipeline and will transform an area currently underserved by transport connections, as well as unlocking new homes and jobs.

But, as local people have told us, there are still many other improvements needed in areas such as pedestrian routes, play facilities, lighting and local amenities.

That’s why we’re also investing in a range of improvements that will make a difference to local communities now.
