This workshop runs from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday 1 August, at The Engine House (Thames Innovation Centre), 2 Veridion Way, Erith, Kent DA18 4AL. The cost is Pay What You Can Afford - see below
‘Bid writing for beginners’ is for those who have very limited previous experience of bid writing and need to gain skills and knowledge of the bidding process. The workshop identifies the essential elements and skills that are necessary to construct and write competitive bids and tenders. This workshop will be especially appropriate for those becoming responsible for designing projects are attracting funding from a range of sources including trusts, local authorities, local –regional or central government. We enable delegates to explore bid writing using supportive and accessible learning strategies.
This workshop draws on the experience and knowledge of bidding and commissioning experts with considerable success in their fields.
The workshop will cover:
Sources of Funding - being fit for funding
Understanding the ‘language’ of bidding
The do’s and don’ts for applicants!
Key bid features – including; milestones, outputs, activities, results
Delegates will be able to:
Focus on key responses required by funders
Translate the language of funding into accessible bid responses
Recognise the difference between active and passive responses
Recognise the difference between strong and less effective applications
Systems Design and responses to scoring regimes
Who Should Attend?
Staff with little or no experience of bid writing from:
Registered charities, Community & Voluntary Sector organisations, colleges, universities, arts organisations, faith organisations, non-government organisations, local authorities, research institutes, Council for Voluntary Services, learning partnerships, business links and associations and training providers, prime contractors, private sector sub-contractors, CCGs, NRF and other regeneration partnerships.
We are a 15 minute walk from Belvedere Station. Buses 180 and 401 stop outside. Free on site parking.
This is a 'pay what you can afford' event. We suggest an amount of £29.95 + vat per person. If you cannot pay please email to request a free place. However, please note these places are discretionary and subject to limitation or cancellation.
