We launched the 50th Fund as a pilot in 2018 to celebrate Thamesmead’s fiftieth anniversary. The fund includes all fees made from filming in Thamesmead, a way for us to give back to the local community. It presents an opportunity for anyone aged 18 and over, community groups and local businesses to make a difference to Thamesmead. The final submission date for applications in 2018 is Friday, 16th November. After this we will take a little break to evaluate the fund’s first year and make some tweaks and changes to the admin side of things. We will be re-launching the fund in Spring 2019 and will make sure to let everyone know!
In 2018, Peabody has awarded over 20 grants of between £200 and £2,000 to support locals with creating activities in Thamesmead that connect the community through art and cultural projects, community-focused work and business support for local enterprises.
If you’ve got an exciting idea for a project, please carefully read our application guidance notes before applying. You can also e-mail [email protected] or [email protected] for help with your applications.
We’re looking for inspiring community-focused projects. These could be from local artworks, exhibitions and films, to themed street parties and picnics, school trips and community gardens. Or, if you’re a local business needing support, the fund could help to take your business to greater heights.
