The Young Ambassadors held their end of project celebration event at The Sporting Club Thamesmead. The Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Geraldene Lucia-Hennis and Consort Peter Lucia-Hennis attended the celebrations and handed out certificates.
She said…..“I was so impressed with what I have heard about you that I had to come and see you!”
20 Young Ambassadors have worked with Nadia Kassab over the past year, to volunteer, take part in training opportunities, get involved with consultations and engage with other Peabody services. The group have gained invaluable skills throughout this time and aim to continue to work with Peabody as peer mentors to future Ambassadors.
Julia Hien, Young Ambassador said at the event “We gained new friends, new knowledge and new skills. The skills I have learnt on this programme, cannot be taught in schools, we got to experience things we are genuinely passionate about. “
Thelma, Young Ambassador said “I don’t think words can describe how impactful this programme has been on me, not only has it improved my confidence, but also my teamwork skills and skills that I can use in my personal statement as a doctor. There are so many benefits of being a Young Ambassador”
