If you’re young in Thamesmead there’s a variety of ways in which you can progress into ambassadorial and leadership roles or access volunteering, training and work experience. Taking any of these options will greatly enhance your employment and career prospects.
Our Youth Ambassadors programme is for anyone living or socialising in Thamesmead between 13 and 25 years old. It provides the chance to take on responsibilities and act as a genuine voice for other local young people to inspire, improve and help shape the activities in your community. Sitting alongside that is our Young Leaders programme which offers you and seven other people up to £500 to create social action projects that will create significant change in the area, while having a good time and meeting new people.
If you’re still at school, you can access our Work Experience programme to dip your toe into the world of work and gain a better understanding of what awaits. If you’re 16-25 years old, you can use the programme to gain vital skills to prepare you for full-time paid employment and be assisted by a professional employment support youth advisor who’ll take a friendly approach in helping you to find work.
