The judges will be looking for an ‘outstanding residential project acting as a catalyst for renewal and growth in an urban or rural setting', and the winner will be announced at a ceremony on 12 November.

Along with the 130 new homes, Southmere also boasts a new public square – Cygnet Square – which will have a library (pictured), retail shops, restaurants, cafes and community amenities for residents on their doorstep. Cygnet Square will become a place where the community meets, with regular events and activities planned from July this year. Thamesmead’s first creative studio will also produce a permanent artwork for the square to be enjoyed by all!
