Pharmacy now open in Cygnet Square

A new pharmacy opened its doors in a commercial space in Cygnet Square this week.

Osbon Pharmacy, formerly known as Brownes Chemist, made the short move from its old store in Yarnton Way to new premises in Wagtail Walk.

The pharmacy is now in a handy spot opposite Lakeside Medical Centre, making it easier for residents to pick up NHS prescriptions.

As well as dispensing prescriptions, the pharmacy offers healthcare advice and a range of over-the-counter medications, vitamins and first aid supplies.

Counter assistant Sharon O’Donnell (pictured) said the pharmacy has been very busy since opening.

“It’s fantastic to have Osbon Pharmacy open in Cygnet Square, and to see how many residents have visited in its first few days of trading,” said Dan Sherlock, Peabody's Senior Regeneration Manager. “Being so close to the health centre in Wagtail Walk makes perfect sense for residents and the pharmacy alike, and we wish them every success.”

The new Osbon Pharmacy is in one of the Cygnet Square commercial spaces completed in 2022 as part of Peabody's seven-phase masterplan for South Thamesmead.

The square is already home to Anytime Fitness, Abbeywood Dental Practice and the TACO! cafe, gallery and event space. More businesses and services will be opening in neighbouring units in the future.

The pharmacy is open 9am-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-1pm on Saturday.
