We’re looking to make Thamesmead’s Yarnton Way and Kale Road areas greener, more pleasant to live in and easier to get around.
As part of the on-going regeneration work, we’ve submitted a planning application to the London Borough of Bexley to make wide-ranging landscape improvements to the spaces surrounding the Masham, Jacob, Clydesdale, Trefoil, Timothy and Muscovy tower blocks.
The work will involve demolishing the existing wall and walkway that links the towers to make the area feel more open and improve pedestrian access. New paths, seating and play areas will also be introduced, along with new trees and planting to increase bio-diversity.
We are also proposing to remove the current garages, many of which are in a poor state of repair or disused, and replacing them with enough marked parking bays to match the current demand for spaces from residents.
If the application is successful, work is due to start in the summer.
