The Mason Mile is a national charity, funded by Sport England, helping families come together to do ‘Their Mile, Their Way’ through their Family Mile initiative.
The Family Mile is a fun and free way for communities to come together and walk, taking that first step to activity for families who may
feel exercise is not for them. Following the success of a pilot in Maidstone, The Mason Mile is now coming to six locations in Kent and
London, including Thamesmead.
With match funding from Peabody and supported by Vinci Facilities, The Family Mile is preparing to launch in the town this Spring (Covid dependent) and is looking for local people to become ambassadors. This will involve volunteering a small amount of time each week to help lead walks and promote the Thamesmead Family Mile.
Ambassador training will be provided in March and held virtually to ensure it is fully Covid secure. Click here for more details about the scheme.
