The sold-out Winter Festive Fair saw children and parents, and guardians of all ages get into the holiday spirit through a range of cheery activities on 14 December.
Cookie making and decorating, festive arts and crafts activities, and the performance of a play starring Santa Claus and Mrs Claus were among the attractions on offer on the day.
Uduak Jesuthasan, Peabody’s Children, Young People and Families Lead for Thamesmead, said: “The festive season is an exciting time, but for many people it can also be expensive and pressured. Our fun day aimed to lift some of that, providing free and fun activities and the chance for families to socialise. It’s all part of our work to help people lead happier, healthier and wealthier lives.”
Later that day, Thamesmead Town Centre was filled with song as the Thamesmead Community Choir gathered beneath the iconic clock tower for an evening of festive songs.
People from across the town came to enjoy and take part in the performance with warm treats and drinks in hand.
