Thamesmead is set to sizzle all summer long with an activities programme that is bursting at the seams.

Get your diaries at the ready for a programme of activities that Peabody has put together for Thamesmead residents.

From a family funfair, football courses, a photography and video project, healthy cooking session, bike rides, to name but a few, there is something for everyone.

All this, as well as a big finale weekend taking place 15-17 September when the Thamesmead Festival will see residents celebrating the past, present and future of Thamesmead. Discovering untold stories and unexpected happenings featuring the best of Thamesmead’s creative talent, brought to you in partnership between Peabody and Emergency Exit Arts. The same weekend that five of Thamesmead’s flagship buildings will be opening their doors and offering a mixture or tours and activities as part of Open House London.

The third annual Thamesmead 5k and Family One Mile will also be taking place (Sunday 17 September). The Thamesmead 5k is open to everyone aged 14+. Sign up in advance, £15 per team (four people) or £5 per person. While the Family One Mile is £1 per person to entry with proceeds going to the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice - or just turn up on the day.
