Many of our activities are now online so you can enjoy them from the comfort of your own home. These include:

  • CraftA Knit, Crochet and Natter sessions running on Zoom every Tuesday from 10.30am-12pm. Email [email protected] or call 07837 031 127 for more information on how to join.
  • Dance for over 50s – free online dance exercise sessions on Zoom every Thursday at 11am, click here to register. 
  • The LaunchPad Volunteering project is a new service provided by Volunteer Centre Bexley, open to any Bexley residents aged over 18 to help people try new ways of connecting online. LaunchPad goes at your pace and offers a mix of personalised 1:1 support, workshops, and social groups to meet new people, rebuild confidence and find out more about volunteering along the way!   • Seniors in Touch weekly sessions via zoom on Tuesdays 11.00 am - 1.00 pm. Activities include socialising, gentle exercise to music, online quizzes and health workshops. Call or WhatsApp 07957727955 for details on how to join.

Free home energy advice in response to Covid-19

Groundwork is an environmental charity who have expert energy advisers (Green Doctors) who help London and Slough residents to save money, stay warm, and improve energy efficiency in the home.

They are offering FREE pre-booked phone consultations as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic. During these challenging times, personalised energy advice is more important than ever. Energy bills may become more of a concern because of changing financial circumstances, and many residents’ will see increased home energy bills.

 

What support can the Green Doctor offer on the phone?

  • Energy saving advice in the home
  • Identifying and tackling damp or mould problems
  • Switching energy providers to save money
  • Further referrals to additional support
  • Accessing the Warm Homes Discount
  • Applying for grants for energy or water debt

 

Who is eligible?

  • those with disabilities
  • those with a long-term health condition
  • those who are pregnant
  • residents over 60 years
  • residents with children under 10 years
  • residents who have a low income (below £16,190)
  • residents with energy costs that are more than 10% of household income
  • residents on benefits
  • residents who have recently lost their job or income

We're looking for local people to share information with family and friends to hep keep them healthy. As a Thamesmead Champion you will play a key role in looking after your community, telling us what they need and sharing information about services that are­­­­­­ available. We will provide free training opportunities and access to webinars on key topics such a­s mental health awa­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­reness.
