2018 is Thamesmead’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate we’re launching a new community fund. This will be an opportunity for individuals, community groups and local businesses to make a difference to Thamesmead.
Grants of between £200 and £2,000 will be awarded throughout the year.

The fund will support individuals, community groups, or local businesses who want to deliver activities in Thamesmead which connect the community.
We’re looking for inspiring community projects. These could be street parties and picnics, to school trips, community gardens, local artworks and films. Or, if you’re a local business needing some support, this fund could help to take your business to the next level.
It’s easy to apply to the Thamesmead 50th Fund. An application form can be downloaded here throughout the year. Once completed, please email it to [email protected]. You will hear back within six weeks if you have been successful.
We have also included some guidelines to help you with your application.
The Thamesmead 50th Fund has been made possible by all the location filming happening in Thamesmead. Over the years, Thamesmead has increasingly become a popular destination for filming activity with film-makers using the architecture and beautiful landscapes to film dramas, music videos and commercials. We do understand that filming can sometimes be disruptive so, since September 2017, all filming fees has been ring-fenced for the Thamesmead 50th fund to ensure that filming activity is directly benefitting the local community.
We are also committed to supporting local entrepreneurs and each year we make funding available to help local businesses and entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground. Last year we supported a number of businesses and this year we want to see even more local people supported so this funding will also be part of the Thamesmead 50th fund and available all year round.
